Gudvangen is easily one of the most beautiful locations in Norway. It is located at the end of the Nærøy fjord where the Nærøydalselvi river empties into the fjord and is surrounded by towering mountains. The Kjellfossen waterfall looms just overhead and can be viewed from anywhere in the village.

In the heart of this stunning location, lies the Viking village of Njardarheimr; otherwise known as Viking Valley. Join Karl & Karin as they take you for a tour through this village and tell you about what life was like during the Viking age a thousand years ago!

Your hosts for this tour are Karl and Karin. Karl Aardal is from Selje Norway and has a huge passion for history. He has been a professional guide since 2004. specializing in the viking age. He has been an active participant in the Viking Valley, Gudvangen project since 2009. Karin Byom is originally from Duluth, Minnesota, USA but relocated to Norway in 1997. She has huge passion for textiles and is an expert in the historic craft of Nalbinding. She has been a part of the Viking Valley, Gudvangen project since 2014.
